Course Overview

This 2-day classroom course describes and discusses the latest digital RF transceivers, including recent direct digitising architectures using high-speed data converters. Topics covered include fundamentals of data sampling, analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) basics.

The course also discusses how to select the optimum RF transceiver architecture for a given application, transceiver performance impairments and design trade-offs as well as a review of a range of modern RF transmitter and receiver performance measurements.

The course is delivered in partnership with leading test equipment manufacturer Rohde & Schwarz at their UK office in Fleet. The course includes a series of practical measurement demonstrations to help reinforce concepts, performed using the latest RF and microwave test and measurement instruments.

Although there are no formal prerequisites for this course, an ability to absorb and understand technical concepts is essential together with a desire to learn more about the topics covered. A technical background is desirable in order to derive maximum benefit from the course.

Those taking the course would normally be qualified to degree-level or have equivalent experience in an engineering, physics or mathematics-related subject. A cancellation fee of 20% will apply for cancellations received 7-14 days before the start of a course. Cancellations received less than 7 days before are not refundable. Substitute delegates can be made any time before a course starts.

Upon registering for a course online, confirmation will be emailed immediately followed by the Course Joining Instructions and an invoice/receipt within 1 working day. We strongly recommend that you do not make any firm travel and/or accommodation commitments until you receive final confirmation that the course will definitely go ahead. This is sent as soon as the minimum number of attendees has been reached to make the course viable and no later than 1 week before the scheduled course start date.
