Simon Robertson is a project manager first and foremost. Simon aims to make the whole project management learning experience both easy to understand and apply to real-life projects and is convinced that successful project management is based on common sense principles, mutual trust, great teamwork, good process and sound judgement.

Simon is absolutely passionate about project management and belives that relationships based on trust are the foundation for great teamwork and successful project delivery. You will therefore find him looking for opportunities to collaborate in every way in order to deliver excellent results to his clients. Honesty, integrity and openness are central to his work ethic.

Simon Robertson brings with him an infectious love of people and life, together with over 30 years experience in project management and more than 20 years experience in training. He is also a risk management expert, which adds value to his approach to practical project management consultancy and training. Previous employers include Microsoft, ICL/Fujitsu, the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), Barlow Rand, The Chamber of Mines (SA) and several charities. In each of these roles he was managing ground breaking projects, frequently the first of a new business change or technology breakthrough.

Simon’s early professional project management experience was gained as a PRINCE2™ practitioner working for the MOD. He holds a degree in Human Biology from Loughborough University, UK and a Diploma in Management Development from the School of Business Leadership at Witwatersrand University, South Africa.

He is a PMI accredited PMP and holds an ISEB Certificate in IS project management. He is a full member of the PMI, British Computer Society (BCS) and Chartered Management Institute and regularly lectures as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading, UK. He regularly presents courses in the UK, Europe and the Far East, is a Microsoft Certified Professional and Trainer and Chair of the local chapter of PMI in the South of England. Simon is currently a Director of Robertson Consulting Ltd.
