Peter Lewis
Consultant, Receiver Research Ltd, Southampton, UK.

altPeter Lewis began his career at Philips Research Laboratories, Redhill, where he studied the control of aerial tuning and radiation patterns, and automated pre-correction in high power TV transmitters. He later moved to Philips Application Laboratories to support customers with TV tuner and TV demodulator IC system designs.

With the advent of digital television, Peter became involved with the first chip-sets, developed jointly by ST and Philips, and has supported the subsequent generations of Philips and, later, NXP DVB demodulators. He has specialised in the development of accurate performance measurement techniques.

Since its inception, Peter has been closely involved with the Digital Television Group (DTG) to support the introduction of digital TV into the UK. He currently supports the RF, Reception, and Mobile Applications groups. He has carried out numerous practical and theoretical studies on their behalf to help with the development of receiver standards, particularly with regard to impulsive interference.

Peter Lewis founded Receiver Research Ltd in June 2008 to provide a technical consultancy service to the Digital Television Receiver Industry. It specialises in RF and IF hardware design and measurement.
